You never know where your career is going to go.
Brooklyn native Jenna Ricciardi has an undergraduate degree in journalism, but went on to obtain a master’s in counseling. She ended up in a different field–as a stay-at-home-mom and also a full-time content creator. She lives in New Jersey with her husband, two daughters and dog. They especially love exploring kid-friendly destinations in the Northeast.
Jenna talked to The Expedition about her packing style (excessive!), best travel tip, and must-haves for the road.
In three words, our travel style is…
Family, fun, relaxing.
The idea of exploring the world together was…
something important to my husband and me. Even now with our children, we want to show them as much as we can. We love to see them experience new places for the first time. I love seeing and learning about different cultures, as well as visiting historic sites.
The first place we visited as a family was…
Aruba
My best family hack is…
Make a list, check it twice!
Our must-have travel gear is…
Medicine, extra clothes, portable chargers.
If I could change one thing, it would be…
I would want more time to travel. It is so hard to revolve around the school schedule.
The most important lesson our child has learned from traveling is…
The world is a bigger place than where they live, there is history to be found everywhere and it is so important to study the world around us.
Our favorite kinds of destinations are…
A mix of historical trips filled with history like Israel, Italy and Greece, but also relaxing island vacations, and of course DISNEY!
The hardest thing about traveling with children is…
I would say it must be a time change but luckily my kids adjusted okay! They are pretty go with the flow so we haven’t had too many challenges yet.
I decide where to travel by…
I am very type A and have a list almost five or six years out of our main travel goals. They are based on where we all want to visit.
The destinations on my bucket list are…
Maldives, Fiji, Australia.
My packing approach is…
Too much, extra of everything!
